live-feed handheld camera, flashlight, vacant snail shell, live vocal performance incorporating contact microphone on throat and handheld microphone.
This performance considers intimacy, secrecy, and proximity in an exploration of the boundaries of my own physical body and the boundaries between myself and others.
I am situated in a dark room with sound equipment, a flashlight, and a handheld camera. My sound equipment and camera are sent to speakers and a projector in an adjacent room. I explore the interiors of my ear and mouth as I whisper text and improvise a vocal composition. Due to the contact microphone on my throat, only the resonant sounds in my larynx are audible, not the content of my speech. In this image, my ear is projected via handheld camera into an adjoining room.
